Jun Mhoon began his music journey as a drummer for the legendary Staple Singers in 1968, later performing with world-renowned artists like Thad Jones, Jessy Dixon, the Bee Gees, the Doors, Paul Simon, and the Count Basie Orchestra. As a staff drummer at Brunswick Records and Chess Records, Jun contributed to the soundtracks of the 1970s, playing on iconic tracks by The Chi-Lites, Gene Chandler, Jackie Wilson, and others.

Jun’s transition into the business side of the industry saw him take on leadership roles at Warner Bros. Records, RCA Records, and A&M Records, before founding I AM Records. His label became known for its wide range of genres, including hip hop, jazz, gospel, and spoken word. Always ahead of the curve, he later founded I AM Digital Media, becoming a pioneer in digital music distribution to platforms like iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
